“For us, this means one tweet when the article goes live, one later that evening, a morning and an afternoon tweet on day two…” How effective have you found this method to be? Sharing the same article twice per day?

I have always wanted to try it but I feared it may be considered a little “too much”. Have you measured the engagement for this technique? How is it contradiction to the more common “1 Share a Day”?

    • Hey George, thanks for dropping by for a comment! As long as it’s packaged up a little differently each time, we still see engagement on tweets of the same thing coming out more than once each day – I think a big part of this is our split audience/userbase, as even though we’re sharing the same post multiple times, tweets is seen by more US people who were asleep while our EU folks viewed the first tweet, and vice versa.

A big reason I went for this is that I’m adapting some advice for after-posting blog promotion from this Quicksprout guide chapter: http://www.quicksprout.com/the-advanced-guide-to-content-marketing-chapter-9/

A little ways down the page they suggest recurring tweets with more than once per day for the first couple of days after a post. I’ve still got to measure more to find what really works for us, however, so this isn’t necessarily the end-all-be-all, that’s for sure!

      • We’ve started doing this as well. When any post is published I come up with 5 different tweets on the post. Sometimes it’s pulling data, other times a quote, other times re-wording the title. We also tweet at any influencers or products that were mentioned in the post. But now tweets go by so quickly, I think I read a Tweet gets 4-5 seconds and then it’s gone, because Twitter is a fire hose of information you can get away with Tweeting again later.

        • It’s nice having some ongoing promotion too if you spread those tweets out over a few days. Like I might get the initial push done in a day or two, but then I’ve still got tweets going out and bringing in new readers while I’m working on the next thing 🙂

I very much agree with Brandon’s Twitter approach here – we have consistently been doing the same thing. The key is to pull specific, relevant details from your blog post that differ each time to incorporate into the Tweets. And keep in mind that many people might miss the first or even the second Tweet but will hopefully catch the subsequent Tweets. Great question!

  2. Awesome input! It’s funny you mention scoop.it, did you by chance submit this article to it? This post has actually gotten a bunch of traffic and reshares on different people’s scoop pages the last few days, and we never even posted it there! Obviously, it should probably get added to the list as I think it’s been reshared 5 or 6 times there! Also, this post itself was one that was really well-received on Inbound, slightly ironic (but not unappreciated!).

    Some more suggestions:

    1. BizSugar.
    2. Digg because why not.
    3. Personal Paper.li account if you have one.
    4. Make a Medium magazine for your niche and add your post.
    5. Triberr.
    6. Viral Buzz Community.

    Cheers!

  4. I can see how this will take up about 3 hours out of my day for whenever I make a post. Though this is still something that is very important and the mediums you listed are great. Appreciate the post.

Hi Brandon, great article! I have been using some of the topics you refer. I believe it is essential relevant engagement, always measure and continuous improvement/adaption.

Very useful. I just started using Medium a few days ago thanks to the advice of a friend. There are some here that I haven’t considered before like Tumblr and Reddit. Thanks! YouTube can also be a possibility, although it’s quite hard to crack, and of course, it’s only worth it if your post has a video related to it. I have, however, just seen videos of guys simply reading out their entire post, or at least summarising it. They seem to do quite well.

    Interesting article!
I think if you have business in social media as well, there is a great chance to shut a deal while interacting with customers using instagram messages.
People spend time on Instagram daily and it’s a great chance to attract their attention faster, to provide a good offer and let the person to click link in bio.
Direct Marketing is really effective for business online. I use bigbangram. They helped me to increase the number of followers. You can try too.
